 You can filter your contacts based on specific event names that you have tracked in Mailmodo. For example, you can segment contacts who've viewed a product using say "Product Viewed" event

You can filter your contacts based on the occurrence as well as not occurrence of the event

 You can filter your contacts based on how frequently or infrequently an event has been performed.

 You can filter your contacts based on specific properties associated with events, such as the value of a purchase or the type of product that was viewed. For example, you can further segment contacts who have viewed products belonging to a particular category using say "Category" property.

What are the filters available for segmentation using custom events?

Shopify store owners can segment their customers based on their behavior and order history.

While creating campaigns in Mailmodo, store owners can segment their customers based on their order history and the products purchased.

In the first step of the segmentation, one can apply segmentation based on the 

In the next step, users can choose the time period as the condition and can detail it with options like, '

 : Tags placed by store owners on a particular order.

: Order value in terms of price paid by the customer on that order. Formulas like, 'Greater than, 'Lesser than', 'Equal to' can be used to further segment it.

Let's see them in action with some use-case-based examples. 

Example 01: If needed to segment based on purchase in the last 30 days.

: Click on ‘segment based on order history'.

: Now set up a logic based on the above use case,

‘When someone has’, ‘Purchased at least once' in, ‘The Last’, ‘30’ days. 

: Click on ‘Next’ and ‘Enter the List Name’ to save it as the saved list.

: Your segment is created, now you can click on ‘Next’ to move forward in the campaign setup process.

Example 02: If needed to segment based on the purchase more than once in between the last two months.

: Click on the ‘segment based on order history'.

‘When someone has’, ‘Purchased more than once' in the last ‘30’ and ‘60’ days. 

Example 03: If needed to segment based on never purchased ever a particular product which belongs to a particular SKU list.

: Click on the ‘segment based on order history’.

 Now set up a logic based on the above use case.

‘When someone has’, ‘Not purchased’ in ‘Over all the time’, and in ‘Products’, ‘SKU List’ is ‘abc/123/tshirts’.

 Click on ‘Next’ and ‘Enter the List Name’ to save it as the saved list.

Following the above logic, new segmentations by selecting variables like, ‘Order Value’, ‘Order Tags’, ‘Item Count’ could be created for your Shopify customer.

How to create a dynamic segment

Segmenting your contact lists helps you organize all your contacts into groups based on shared traits or attributes. This allows for more personalized and effective communication, as you can send the right message to the right group of users at the appropriate time

User Engagement condition in segmentation enables you to segment contacts based on their Open rate, Click rate, and Submission rate where

What are the filters available for segmentation using user properties?

This guide will walk you through the steps to set up and leverage this feature effectively in Mailmodo. You can define segments based on the links clicked in your campaign and further personalize your targeting. 

For example, if you have links for clothing, electronics, and home decor, you can create segments for customers who clicked on each of these categories in your email and send them targeted and tailored communication.

How to create a segments based on the links clicked by contacts in your email campaigns?

 Click on the create segment button in the Contacts section.

 Enter the segment name and select the segment type. Always prefer dynamic segments to keep your segment updated with the latest contact information.

 Select the campaign activity filter > "User has clicked" and select the campaign of your choice. You can select a maximum of 1 campaign to use link based segmentation. Once you select the campaign from the dropdown, you would be able to see a "Filter" button.

 Click the Filter button and you can now select the clicked URLs present in the template. You can also preview the count before creating the segment.

We suggest to follow below steps to ensure that you achieve your business goals in the most effective way.

Start by creating a new email campaign as you would normally. Craft your email content with different links that correspond to specific categories, products, or offers based on your requirement.

 This allows us to capture and analyze the link clicks for segmentation purposes. Adding URL present in the email would be tracked for and available for link based segmentation.  

Now, that you have click information from your previous campaigns. Use the steps in this guide as mentioned above to create a link click based segment.  

 With your segments in place, you can now create targeted campaigns tailored to each segment. Craft personalized content, offers, and recommendations that align with the customers' interests expressed through their link clicks.

 Once your targeted campaigns are live, monitor the performance and engagement metrics closely. Analyze how each segment responds to the personalized content and make adjustments as needed to optimize your campaigns.
