Shopify store owners can segment their customers based on their behavior and order history.
While creating campaigns in Mailmodo, store owners can segment their customers based on their order history and the products purchased.
In the first step of the segmentation, one can apply segmentation based on the purchase as an event, that whether it was made at least once, more than once or never purchased (Not Purchased) in a particular time period.
In the next step, users can choose the time period as the condition and can detail it with options like, 'the last', 'between', to select the exact days.
And 'over all the time' when the time period is of a whole lifetime for a particular segment.
Next steps are for the advance segmentation, where more filters can be applied on
the segment created in the first two steps.
It can be done on the basis of,
- Order Tags : Tags placed by store owners on a particular order.
- Order Value : Order value in terms of price paid by the customer on that order. Formulas like, 'Greater than, 'Lesser than', 'Equal to' can be used to further segment it.
- Item Count : Count in terms of the number of products in an order made by the customer. Formulas like, 'Greater than, 'Lesser than', 'Equal to' can be used to further segment it.
Specific Product related filters like:
- Product Names : The exact name of the particular product ordered by the customer.
- SKU List : The SKU list the ordered product belongs to.
Tags List: The product tags associated with the product.
Let's see them in action with some use-case-based examples.
Example 01: If needed to segment based on purchase in the last 30 days.
- Step 1: Click on ‘segment based on order history'.
- Step 2: Now set up a logic based on the above use case,
- ‘When someone has’, ‘Purchased at least once' in, ‘The Last’, ‘30’ days.
- Step 3: Click on ‘Next’ and ‘Enter the List Name’ to save it as the saved list.
- Step 4: Your segment is created, now you can click on ‘Next’ to move forward in the campaign setup process.
Example 02: If needed to segment based on the purchase more than once in between the last two months.
- Step 1: Click on the ‘segment based on order history'.
- Step 2: Now set up a logic based on the above use case,
- ‘When someone has’, ‘Purchased more than once' in the last ‘30’ and ‘60’ days.
- Step 3: Click on ‘Next’ and ‘Enter the List Name’ to save it as the saved list.
- Step 4: Your segment is created, now you can click on ‘Next’ to move forward in the campaign setup process.
Example 03: If needed to segment based on never purchased ever a particular product which belongs to a particular SKU list.
- Step 1: Click on the ‘segment based on order history’.
- Step 2: Now set up a logic based on the above use case.
- ‘When someone has’, ‘Not purchased’ in ‘Over all the time’, and in ‘Products’, ‘SKU List’ is ‘abc/123/tshirts’.
- Step 3: Click on ‘Next’ and ‘Enter the List Name’ to save it as the saved list.
- Step 4: Your segment is created, now you can click on ‘Next’ to move forward in the campaign setup process.
Following the above logic, new segmentations by selecting variables like, ‘Order Value’, ‘Order Tags’, ‘Item Count’ could be created for your Shopify customer.
