You can edit any of your published or running journeys effortlessly. Add new blocks, tweak existing ones, and more – it's all at your fingertips. After making your edits, save it as a draft to get valuable input from your team members, or simply publish it again whenever you're ready.

Note: Editing a published journey will not affect the contacts that are already enrolled in to the journey

To edit a published journey, click on the "Edit" option from the respective journey's dashboard or in the three dots menu on the journey listing page

After making edits to your journey, you can save it to drafts for later review. When you access this drafted and published journey, you'll be prompted to either discard or accept the edits before continuing with the journey.

When you click on the "Next" button after editing the journey, a summary of everything that was changed will be shown


Updating the templates in a published journey:

Step 1

 Go to the template you want to edit in the 

 section on the left panel of the Mailmodo dashboard.

If you want to know which templates are being used in your journey follow the steps below or go directly to 

' in the left panel and select the desired journey.

 In the next window, as shown below, click on the campaign for which you want to edit your template

section to get the campaign details and template used as shown below.

A pop-up box will appear confirming that the changes will be made to all the transactional campaigns using that template. 

Your journey will now work with the updated template. Follow the same steps for editing other templates.

Preview all the versions of the journey:


You can view all the versions that you have previously published by following these steps:

 Click on the "Preview" option in either the journey dashboard or the three dots on the journey listing page

 Select the version of the journey that you want to view from the dropdown

Trigger cannot be changed for a published journey

 Once you have published the journey, you can only change the configuration for all triggers

How to edit an already running or published journey? 

The objective of this feature is to enable the connection of multiple input connections to a single action node within a journey. This enhancement will streamline journey management, reduce unnecessary duplication of the same flow, and allow for more sophisticated and efficient journey design.

Let's consider a scenario in which you're orchestrating a journey to send a series of reminder emails for an upcoming webinar. Once the webinar concludes, you aim to send out emails with webinar recordings along with coupon codes.

Following this, you intend to dispatch a comprehensive email containing additional resources about your product. Previously, accomplishing this in the workflow demanded a laborious process, involving the replication of the same sequence three times.

However, the introduction of multiple input connectors has transformed this journey into a streamlined and organized process. Now, you're able to significantly reduce redundancy and complexity.

With this enhancement, you no longer need to create identical flows thrice; instead, you can consolidate the sequence, resulting in a cleaner and more manageable journey.

By leveraging multiple input connectors, you've effectively eliminated unnecessary repetition and intricate clutter. As a result, the journey's design has become more intuitive and easier to manage.

You will be able to connect two or more connectors from any action node to any other action note.

If you have added any of  "Clicked"/"Submitted"/ "Form submission" condition nodes, you can set multiple rules by selecting URLs or questions from the dropdown.

You can connect these multiple rules as inputs to another action node such as the "Send campaign" node.

This would mean that, post publishing the journey, whenever a contact reaches any of these blocks, check the rules set and direct the user to the respective node.

Updating new contact list in the published journey:

 section (left panel) and select the kebab menu of the journey under action on the right and choose Enroll contacts.

Select the list you want to add the contacts to and upload the CSV file -> Select Map columns.

 Map the respective columns and select Review Import

Review the imported columns and select Import contacts

Update new contact list in active journey

This guide provides you with comprehensive steps to pause or cancel a running journey that will prevent you send any campaign when you are refining the existing journey.

Click on the "Pause" option in the three dots menu of the respective journey or its dashboard. Once the journey is paused, you'll have the option to select what happens to the active contacts in the journey 

No new contacts will be added to the journey.

Pausing the journey allows you to resume it later.

Click on the "Cancel" option in the three dots menu of the respective journey or its dashboard.  You'll have the option to select what happens to the active contacts in the journey. No new contacts will be added to the journey

A journey once canceled cannot be resumed again. If you wish to resume the journey in the future, please use pause instead.

Pause a journey when you want to temporarily stop it and potentially resume it later. You can also edit this paused journey and republish it later.

Cancel a journey when you want to permanently end it and don't plan to continue it in the future. You can duplicate this journey and tweak it according to your use case.

How to pause or cancel a running journey?

Ensuring that users are removed from journeys is equally crucial as adding them. It's essential to avoid sending messages to users when the content or the updates are no longer relevant to them. This guide covers various ways that you can use to remove contacts from your journeys.

Here are different ways you can remove users from the journey:

Unlinked/isolated blocks are like exit doors in a journey. If a block isn't connected to another, it becomes a point where contacts can exit. Make sure you remember  If you want users to leave the journey after a specific block, you can intentionally leave it unconnected. But, if you want users to keep moving forward, ensure every block is connected.

When you use conditions or advanced condition blocks, you can split the journey into based on whether the contact has met the conditions set up in those blocks or not. If you want to remove the contacts who have not met the conditions, you can simply add the "Exit journey" block to the No path.

Contacts who meet the exit criteria will automatically be removed from the journey. For example, if a contact that is enrolled in the journey is a part of a list selected in exit criteria, they will be removed from the journey.

Exit criteria is checked throughout the journey rather than just one block. This means that irrespective of the contact's position in the journey, once they meet the exit rule criteria, they will no longer receive messages that are no longer relevant to them.
