How to pause or cancel a running journey?

This guide provides you with comprehensive steps to pause or cancel a running journey that will prevent you send any campaign when you are refining the existing journey.

Pausing a journey:

Click on the "Pause" option in the three dots menu of the respective journey or its dashboard. Once the journey is paused, you'll have the option to select what happens to the active contacts in the journey 

  •  Already enrolled contacts will stop at their current stage in the Journey
  •  Already enrolled contacts will continue through the Journey 

No new contacts will be added to the journey.

Pausing the journey allows you to resume it later.

Cancelling a journey:

Click on the "Cancel" option in the three dots menu of the respective journey or its dashboard. You'll have the option to select what happens to the active contacts in the journey. No new contacts will be added to the journey

  • Already enrolled contacts will stop at their current stage in the Journey
  • Already enrolled contacts will continue through the Journey

A journey once canceled cannot be resumed again. If you wish to resume the journey in the future, please use pause instead.

In summary, You can

  • Pause a journey when you want to temporarily stop it and potentially resume it later. You can also edit this paused journey and republish it later.
  • Cancel a journey when you want to permanently end it and don't plan to continue it in the future. You can duplicate this journey and tweak it according to your use case.
