How to pause or cancel a running journey?

This guide provides you with comprehensive steps to pause or cancel a running journey that will prevent you send any campaign when you are refining the existing journey.
Pausing a journey:
Click on the "Pause" option in the three dots menu of the respective journey or its dashboard. Once the journey is paused, no new contacts will be enrolled to the journey.
Pausing the journey allows you to resume it later.
Cancelling a journey:
Click on the "Cancel" option in the three dots menu of the respective journey or its dashboard. You'll have the option to select what happens to the active contacts in the journey. No new contacts will be added to the journey
- Already enrolled contacts will stop at their current stage in the Journey
- Already enrolled contacts will continue through the Journey
A journey once canceled cannot be resumed again. If you wish to resume the journey in the future, please use pause instead.

How to pause a Journey
Pausing a journey temporarily stops it, which prevents any campaigns from being sent. You can resume a paused journey at any time. You can also edit a paused journey and republish it.
Steps:
- Locate the journey: Go to the journey listing page or to an individual journey dashboard.
- In the listing page, you need to open the 3-dot-menu to pause.
- Select "Pause": Click on the "Pause" option
- Choose an Option for Active Contacts: Select what should happen to contacts already enrolled in the journey:
- Stop at Current Stage: Contacts will remain at the stage they were at when the journey was paused.
- Continue Through Journey: Contacts will continue to progress through the journey as originally planned.
You can always resume a paused journey by clicking on the "Resume" button.
Note: No new contacts will be added to the journey once it has been paused or canceled.
How to cancel a Journey
Canceling a journey ends it permanently. You cannot resume a canceled journey. You can, however, duplicate the canceled journey and modify it.
Steps:
- Locate the journey: Go to the journey listing page or to an individual journey dashboard.
- In the listing page, you need to open the 3-dot-menu to cancel.
- Select "Cancel": Click on the "Cancel" option.
- Select "Cancel Journey" in the confirmation dialog box.
If you cancel the journey, all related campaigns will be stopped, and no new contacts will be enrolled. The journey cannot be resumed afterward. To resume the journey later, consider using the pause option instead.
Tip: Consider duplicating your journey as you might want to use the journey again in the future. You can then modify the duplicate journey as needed.
