Getting started with Salesforce integration

Mailmodo <> Salesforce integration allows you to start sending email campaigns to the Leads and Contacts in your Salesforce CRM. With the integration, creating list segmentations in Mailmodo with synchronized Salesforce lead and contact records is pretty easy. The integration also lets you view campaign reports, manage subscribers, create custom queries, and more inside your Salesforce CRM. Mailmodo and Salesforce integration enables you to:
Sync Salesforce CRM records into Mailmodo
Import your Salesforce contact and lead records into Mailmodo and send them a personalized email at scale. You can also generate new leads in Salesforce for email addresses that don't match existing leads, giving your sales team more people to contact.
Keeping track of marketing engagement
This integration will update Salesforce CRM with the Mailmodo campaign activities and export form submissions at regular intervals, so your sales team can get better visibility into your marketing engagement activities – right within their CRM.

Note - In case you are not familiar with Salesforce Glossary, we will recommend you to go through this article. Also, this integration is supported only with Salesforce Sales Cloud.
Prior to integrating Mailmodo with Salesforce, you need to ensure the following:
- You have a Mailmodo platinum plan and above
- Your Salesforce CRM is one of the following platform editions: Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, or Performance.
- If you use a Professional edition, you will need to ask your Salesforce Account Executive to enable API access for your account before you begin the Salesforce integration.
- To use all the capabilities of the integration, your Salesforce account must have the following role permissions : access different record types (like Contacts, Leads, and Campaigns, etc.), view and edit page layout assignments, and list views.
Note - The integration only allows you to connect a single Salesforce account with your Mailmodo account. If you want to deactivate existing integration, please reach out to Mailmodo Customer Support .
In this section, we will explain what data types are synced between Salesforce <> Mailmodo:
Sync Salesforce Leads & Contacts into Mailmodo
Once the Salesforce integration is activated, we will start syncing the Salesforce Contacts, Leads, Person Accounts, and Campaign Members to Mailmodo at regular intervals. Each List View and active Salesforce campaign will be imported as Lists in Mailmodo. Once added, it’s fairly easy to create segments, send emails and enroll your contacts to journey in Mailmodo.
Send Mailmodo Campaign data and template export submission to Salesforce
Once the integration is activated, Mailmodo campaign responses will automatically start flowing back to Salesforce at regular intervals. We will be syncing campaign summary statistics as custom fields in the Campaign object, individual campaign activity for a contact to Campaign Member object, and template export submission to the Leads or Contacts object in Salesforce.
Note - Mailmodo will send data to Salesforce only for the campaigns which are created after Salesforce integtration was activated.
Note - Currently, we don’t support importing Salesforce Account, Opportunities, or Custom Object records to Mailmodo. If you have any such requirements then, please reach out to Mailmodo Customer Support.
