It's the email address from which your users will receive the emails. They will see it in the 

When you sign up for a new Mailmodo account, we automatically add a default sender email to your account. You can use this email to test the platform.

To send your actual campaigns with Mailmodo, you need to add your own custom sender email address. For ex - If your domain is '

' then the custom sender email address could be 'hey@abc.com'. 

Here's a step-by-step guide for setting up your sender email and SMTP in Mailmodo.

Step 1:- On the Mailmodo Dashboard, click on Settings to access Sender Settings. Next, add New Sender. 

: Enter the sender mail address from which you want to send the emails. Next, select the email delivery service (SMTP) you want to use and configure it. 

Mailmodo provides an in-built SMTP to get you started. You just need to verify your domain and you can start sending emails. You can also bring your own SMTP (e.g. AWS SES, Sendgrid etc.) to Mailmodo.

You can enter the desired email and select 

 as the email delivery service(SMTP). The email address will be added. If the domain (the part after the @ in any email address) of the sender email is not verified with Mailmodo, you need to add DNS records.

You only need to authorize the domain once, all new emails that use the same domain will be automatically verified.

(Only available with Gold and Platinum plans)

If you have been sending emails with another SMTP and would like to continue with that, you can set up the same from Mailmodo. Mailmodo supports 

SMTPs which you can select while configuring your sender emails.

Your sender email should be already configured and ready to send emails (from the SMTP provider) before setting it up in Mailmodo. For verification, we will send an email to check that your email address is properly configured. If any error is detected, then you would not be able to use that sender email (until errors are resolved).

You may also configure your Sender Settings using any SMTPs other than the ones mentioned above. For this first enter your sender ID then choose the 'Custom SMTP' option and click on 'Continue'.

To configure a Custom SMTP you will need to enter the SMTP Name, SMTP Username, SMTP Password, Host, and Port details in the next step as shown below.

Step 3:- Updating DKIM, DMARC & SPF records

We need to verify that you own the domain of the sender email by setting up certain DNS records.

 If the domain is already configured with Mailmodo or you are using your own SMTP, this step might not be required. You will see what you need to update on the popup screen after adding the sender email.

Step 4:- Whitelisting your domain for AMP approval

All new sender emails must be whitelisted by Google before they can show AMP content. You can start sending emails to your users as soon as your domain or email is verified. AMP content will only be shown after whitelisting. If an AMP email is sent from a non-whitelisted email address, the HTML (fallback) version will be shown.

Once you have configured your SMTP, you will be redirected to the AMP approval form. You can fill the form now (or later). 

If you choose to fill it later, you will find the whitelist button in Sender settings.

Once this form is filled, an application will be sent requesting Google to whitelist your email address.

The approval process may take up to 7 days, you will get a confirmation email when it's completed. Once the email address has been whitelisted for AMP by Google, you will be able to send out dynamic AMP email campaigns through Mailmodo.

Adding Custom Sender Emails in Mailmodo

In this article we will update the DNS settings to configure Mailmodo SMTP for your domain, with Godaddy's domain service as an example:

 Go to the Settings page and Click on Senders Settings. 

Your contacts would receive emails from the email address you add here.

 Fill out the AMP form to get your domain AMP whitelisted from Google and Yahoo. Without getting this approval, you would not be able to send AMP emails to the contacts. (Here's a 

After filling the AMP form, you would see a dialog box with the DNS settings. These are your DNS records, copy each of them and add them to the DNS management section of your registrar. 

You can check your domain registrar using tools like 

 Once they are added, click on 'Refresh and Verify' to get the Verified status for the records. 

The verified status would mark the ready state of the sender id for sending campaigns. 

In case, your AMP whitelisting is pending, you would only be able to send HTML campaigns till the approval happens. 

 Declare TYPE, Add HOST and its VALUE for every record displayed in the Mailmodo dialog box. You can set the TTL for every record for 1 hour. 

 Complete all the entries exactly as they are in the Mailmodo dialog box. 

 Click on Refresh and Verify to check the verified status of the records in Mailmodo. 

Once all three records get the verified status, the sender id is ready to use for sending campaigns.

In what timezone is the data on my campaign listing page displayed?

The campaign listing page displays all your campaigns and provides an aggregated summary in your local timezone. If you use the date filter, the data will also be shown according to your local timezone.

Why do some of my campaigns show timezone information while others don't in my campaign list?

We display timezone information only for campaigns scheduled in a different timezone than your current one. For example, if you're in India, we'll show the timezone for all campaigns scheduled in any other timezone than India e.g. Toronto.

In which timezone is the data on my campaign dashboard displayed?

The campaign dashboard data is shown in the local timezone and includes timezone labelling/text if the campaign is scheduled in a different timezone.
